Exclusive | Candice Miller has sold the Hamptons home where her husband took his own life for $12.8 million

Gimme Shelter has learned that the Hamptons shelter where a debt-ridden influencer’s husband took his own life over the summer has sold for $12.8 million after multiple offers.

In late June, real estate expert Brandon Miller, 44, was poisoned in the garage of the property while his 43-year-old wife, Candice Miller, and their daughters were vacationing in Italy. Miller died over the July 4 weekend in a Southampton hospital – leaving his widow, the founder of lifestyle blog Mama & Tata, with $33.6 million in debt. He also left behind a suicide note, according to reports.

“The house probably would have sold for more, but the bank wanted out,” Gimme told a broker familiar with the deal.

News that the house had been sold surfaced in recent weeks – however, the specific sale price was not disclosed.

The Water Mill Condo was on the market for $15.49 million with Paspoke Real Estate.

The home south of the highway — on Cobb Isle Road — was built in 2013 in a traditional Hamptons cedar style. It features seven bedrooms, five fireplaces, eight bathrooms, two powder rooms and sits on 1.12 acres. The property also features a swimming pool, a pool house and lush landscaping.

While the home was part of a lifestyle that looked beautiful on social media, behind the perfectly trimmed hedges lay a menacing secret of spiraling, out-of-control debt that made the family’s seemingly lofty and enviable life anything but. At the time of his death, Miller had $8,000 in the bank.

“I tried to show it, but a lot of people didn’t want to see it,” another luxury broker said of the home’s connection to Miller’s suicide. “That energy is not for everyone.”

The new owner bought the house “as is”, so it was fully furnished – and then announced an auction of its contents. The online auction will be held on Tuesday, January. 7. Items to be auctioned range from a $1 loaf pan to a $5 cake pan and a $2,800 white linen sofa.

Auction ends Tuesday at 7pm The objects, art and furniture up for auction are like a snapshot of a troubled family psyche, as they also include a collection of mounted dead animal heads – from a $1,125 zebra head mount to an antlered deer skull.

“It’s got a lot of good taste mixed in with disturbing animal trophy art that’s too sweet and a bit bland,” said one broker.

Other items include an African tribal pig necklace on a metal stand for $160. All prices are initial offers; buyers pay a premium of 18%. Candice has nothing to do with the auction, a spokesman said.

Measuring 8,674 square feet, the home opens to a double-height great room. The interiors, according to recent listing images, had an airy feel with massive windows, natural light, exposed wood beams and wide-plank oak floors.

There is also an eat-in kitchen and a movie theater.
