New owners discover secret building feature buried in their garden: ‘I want a bit of buy one get one free’

They were “hedging” their bets on what they would be.

A UK couple is back after discovering an old stone house hidden in the backyard of their new home, as detailed in an Instagram video with millions of views.

“So it turns out we’ve bought an outbuilding we didn’t know about…little love buy one get one free, but I’m not complaining!” the duo, Ben and Rebecca, burst into the caption.

The Cornwall-based lovebirds were said to have discovered the bonus building shortly after moving into the residence in July.

“It’s gone into the main sewage pipe, but I can’t say we’ve tested it yet and there’s no cistern to flush it out anyway,” the couple said. @camelcottagerenovation/Instagram

The incognito toilet wasn’t in the plan, and they likely wouldn’t have found the hidden gem if it weren’t for their pets, who helped them “scrub” it.

“When we moved in, we noticed that the dogs kept disappearing under this overgrown fence and we didn’t know what they were doing or where it was going,” the Brits told Newsweek. “We assumed it was just a retaining wall or fence, but we wanted to make sure it was secure so the dogs couldn’t escape and that there were no hidden dangers.”

With their curiosity piqued, the couple decided to pull back the curtain on the plant.

In the clip, Ben can be seen trimming the bushes, which cover the building like a structural sniper suit.

He cuts through the undergrowth to reveal a stone wall and storage shed with a ladder, scrap lumber and a roof covered by years of ivy growth.

They discovered that the camouflaged building, which was attached to the garage, was a house with a “small door, a brick-built toilet and the toilet holder still in place,” the couple said.

While having an extra bathroom can increase the home’s resale value, the couple has yet to use the wooded facilities for themselves.

“It has gone into the main sewage pipe, but I can’t say we’ve tested it yet and there’s no cistern to flush it out anyway,” they said. “[We’re] not sure yet if we’ll do it in storage for the garden, a new outdoor toilet or shower, or someone even suggested putting it up on Airbnb.”

Viewers were stunned by the revelation.

“Love the slow discovery… and what a find! Beautiful stone wall…and a small house…Joy!” a curmudgeon.

Another wrote: “The stone wall has been surprisingly discovered.”

‘This is such a wonderful discovery for you! I can’t wait to see what else you can come up with!” a third erupted.
