The fabricated Celeb-Magnet Nello restaurant, which closed last year after 25 years of colorful Uptown Madison Avenue, is turning into a new Midtown place, the post has learned.
Real estate mogul and former -exclusivity of hot dogs King Thomas Makkos signs rent at 62 W. 55th St., which is part of the recently modernized Green SL office tower. Location was recently Bice Cafe’s home.
Although Nello Balan’s first name adorned the original Italian restaurant until his last days, he was actually led by Makko after partners were separated in 2015.
The new nello will have 2,300 square meters on the first floor, 1,500 square meters underground and a large sidewalk courtyard.
The block between the fifth and sixth roads is also the home of Alain Ducasse’s Bistro Bistro and Michael’s media.
“Nello is an institution and needed a major location that reflects his reputation,” the retail president Meridian James Celebrity, whose signature brokered the agreement.
Makkos hopes to seduce the numerous bold rules of Nello such as J.Lo, Uma Thurman, Harrison Ford, Pierce Brosnan and Jennifer Aniston.
A list is unlikely to return at all times soon is President Trump, who as a frequent client reported the Melania court there.
