Shower ‘Loofah’ turns out to be something much more terrible – but ‘surprisingly beautiful’

A Reddit user has gone viral on the social media platform after sharing a real science experiment involving an “sponge appearance” in her room shower.

“I left it for a while because I was interested and wanted to see what it would look like or end up doing,” she wrote in her original post.

Despite her appearance as Loofah, the citizens’ scientist knew that she had some kind of fungi that infected her home.

She told Newsweek, “At first, she began to look like a loofah and then eventually turned into a small mushroom, and would change very soon.”

“I moved the sponge thing and continued to come back, so I left it to see what it would do even though I know it’s bad. I was just so interesting.”
