A woman with over 40 allergies, including water, use a sheet of color code spread to keep everyone’s tracks.
Chloe Ramsay, 19, was born with many food allergies and would even go into anaphylactic shock after eating certain foods – such as bananas and potatoes.
While she no longer ends up in the hospital by allergic reactions thanks to childhood treatments, she currently has a list of 40 things that can make her mouth and throat swell dangerously, or bring her skin to the hive.
They include kivis, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and grapes.
Chloe was diagnosed with ‘pollen food syndrome’-an allergy to any pollen-leaked substances, including sweets, fruits, and even perfumes in June 2023.
This explained most of its allergies – but its most unusual is an allergy to water, known as aquagenic urticaria.
When not treated, showers make it switched on in hives and caught in the rain leaves it “wanting to shred [my] Skin with a knife. “
New allergies often appear and their rigors can change a lot with the meaning that Chloe has to keep their tracks with a color code spreadsheet.
Chloe, a guardian, from Havant, Hampshire, said: “We learned about my first allergies when I was six months old and my mum was removing me.
“If I was given potatoes or bananas, I would go to blue and password, but fortunately my reactions are not that bad.
“They change, but I can’t rightly like strawberries, kivis, fruit juices and can’t use aromatic shampoos and body washing.
“With water allergies, she just came one day – I thought I would have used a body wash I was allergic for but worsened.
“Whenever I left my hands, I would get massive redness and felt like ants crawling on my skin.
“I will need to be given my injections to treat my life allergies.”
Chloe recalls frequent trips to the hospital as a child to take epin and medicine.
When she ate a banana or potato, she would go into anaphylactic shock and was in a hurry to A&E.
Over the years, the hospital used a ‘microdozing’ technique to train the body not to go to anaphylaxis and reduce its severe reactions.
Some allergies faded over the years, while the new ones came out – and she stopped being able to eat any fruit at all.
The reactions were “invading” such as swelling lips, redness and a “scratched” sensation when it breathes.
As a result of what would later be diagnosed as pollen food syndrome, it also had to avoid perfumes, spicy soaps and even smoked wood tools due to pollen in the trees used to smoke.
She said: “At school I had my blue group, so dinner staff knew my allergies.
“They had to make my food all over again.
“Now I’m in university, I fight because many of the social things are based on photography and I have to constantly check the menu.
“It makes me quite anxious to sit around the food I know I can’t eat.”
In October 2022, she also began to explode in the hive when her skin touched the water.
Her reactions were sometimes so intensely, she would not be able to focus on anything else.
She was given a diagnosis of aquatic urticaria – an allergy to water in her skin – but fortunately, her drinking caused no problems.
She said: “It can be itchy and painful, like having ants crawling on your skin.
“The allergy came almost unexpectedly. Finally I would take showers, then one day I started itching and every time it was worse.
“I changed shampoo, air conditioner, body washing, jersey, cleaner and water temperature – nothing helped.”
The situation deteriorated over time and became useful for him.
She said: “As soon as I was left on the rain road for a train and at the time I got inside, I couldn’t stop scratched – I came a drug addict.
“I felt like I wanted to tear my skin with a knife. I even told my mother ‘I can’t do this anymore’.
Last year, she became acquainted with a drug injected to treat her allergies – after a medical board approved the strong medicine due to its serious situation.
Twice a month Chloe should inject with her to keep her allergies in the breast – but she may need to be in her for life.
With the medicine, its water allergy is “almost completely extinct”, but it still needs to be careful about perfumes and eat pollen derived when it is in medication.
It should keep track of any food it reacts to, and how heavy, using a system coded with traffic color in an Excel Spreadsheet.
She said: “So far, no one has been in that injection for life. Apparently I am one of the three unfortunate for one hundred who was not completely healed by it.
“I’m so unlucky – I bored it. But just have to laugh now.
“I’m allergic to so much things my parents joke” what will you be allergic to the other oxygen? . ”
