A British man has shown how he accidentally ended up adopting a colony of 20 lost Spanish cats.
Sam Kinnear, 34, moved to the Spanish island of Mallorca last October with his wife’s cat, Bunny.
On the day of their arrival in the city of Pollensa, Sam found himself quickly responsible for more lines than he would have planned initially.
Noticing that two cats look properly “at home” in his posterior garden, curiosity followed their footsteps and prevented over 15 losses by looking down from a wall.
He decided to feed them – but before he knew, he was their “cat’s mother”, and after he helped protect the cats raft cats and neuters, the cats returned and are now official part of the family.
Sam’s clothing brand manager now has cats waiting outside his front door for dinner at 5am every day, with the clip resting in chairs and tables around his property.
He joked about how a “mix in the cat distribution system” – Jokey’s idea that when you read, the universe will present a cat to you – means that the 20 ends have now taken over his life.
Sam – who says cars care can be a little scary sometimes – has given everyone names, including Clarence, Simon, Suki Lu, Buggy and Momo Twins and Gyoza.
Sam, who runs a brand of clothing with his wife, originally from London, said: “The first day they were already here.
“I saw the cat – I wanted to feed the cats.
“I get out of my gate and they are there and overtime they work where I live.
“They are all so beautiful and have such beautiful personalities.
“All those who come to visit, they are simply blown up.
“Is it a little scary because what happens if I ever want to leave here?!
“Funny fun and it’s not a big issue with my cat, but sometimes it gets a little – it will have to explore ways to calm them down a little!”
For Sam, it attributes the cat colony where it has fallen as a result of the cat distribution system (CDN) – a meme phrase created in tiktok to describe people than on the other side.
While they have had a rabbit for seven years, their other cat unfortunately died shortly before her first birthday after being hit by a car.
Sam said: “He broke my heart and must have said an urgent sos for Bigwigs in CDN.
“People often talk about the shady and mysterious works of CDN and I think there should have been a look at their system when it occupied me – I think I should have been sensitive to its charm.
“I think cats like them here as we are surrounded by other properties and they almost exclusively have dogs, so we’re like a small cat oasis and a dog without dogs.”
Sam is prone to generating support for protection of Polensa cats, which helped him have cats safely.
