An Australian sex worker was left horrified when a stranger outed her while visiting an abortion clinic, sparking an avalanche of abuse online.
Tasha Paige, a popular adult content creator, recently became pregnant with her boyfriend and was struggling with her decision.
The 23-year-old from Australia eventually decided to have a termination, saying it was the “right decision”, adding that neither she nor her partner “were ready” to become parents.
However, she suffered further upheaval when secret videos and photos of the abortion clinic began circulating on social media, prompting many to condemn Ms Paige’s decision.
“A lot of people were commenting about putting my needs aside and carrying the pregnancy, but my life at the time and with the baby’s father – neither of us was ready for that commitment and I didn’t want to bring a life into this world. .where she won’t have the support or family around her given the situation at the time,” the OnlyFans star told news.com.au.
“I was shocked and upset when I saw our video on TikTok.
“My privacy was invaded and the woman who shared it was also undergoing the same procedure, so I couldn’t believe she was shaming me for having one.”
Miscarriage is a common experience for Australian women. About one in six have had the procedure by their mid-30s, according to research published by the Australian New Zealand Journal of Public Health.
mrs. Paige believes the backlash to the video, which has since been deleted, was especially harsh because of her X-rated profession.
“Even though I’m not on birth control, I take other precautions and people assumed I wasn’t,” she explained.
“Some said, ‘What are you waiting for, you’re a sex object,’ and others claimed, ‘It was only a matter of time before that happened.’
“But many women have or will have to go through this at some point. Having to access this health care has nothing to do with my job, nor is it shameful.”
Although many offered unsolicited opinions on Ms. Paige’s decision, many agreed that posting the video was a terrible violation of privacy.
“Abortions are serious and affect your mental and physical health. I’m just now in the right space where I can gather what’s happened and respond accordingly,” she explained.
“I did not confront the woman who shared the video and thankfully it was taken down not long after she posted it after people reported her for a breach of privacy.
“But I advised the private video clinic and notified them and they were very apologetic.”
The social media creator has decided to speak out about her ordeal in a bid to help destigmatise abortion, explaining: “My whole reasoning for sharing it is to raise awareness and show others that I don’t are alone.”
