Gen Z Civil War: Hard-partying Zoomers slam their ‘boring grandma’ peers: ‘I’m 20, not 85!’

They are more like Gen Zzz.

Zoomers have earned a reputation for being old before their time – eschewing wild parties and alcohol in favor of sobriety and staying at home.

But some fed-up members of Gen Z — those born between the late 1990s and early 2010s — say they’re tired of losing their youth and are now attacking their peers for being bored.

“I HATE granny culture,” lamented a content creator named Bekah, who told fellow twentysomethings to “sleep when you’re dead.”

“I just want to be FERAL in different places throughout 2025,” she wrote in a viral TikTok video.

“Honestly, I just saw a girl post a video saying I’m too old to go clubbing at 22,” said another. “Excuse me?? 22 is a child.”

For Gen Z, being a body at home has become the new “norm.”

Some young people have boasted about abstaining from alcohol, drugs and sex.

On Reddit, older users wondering where Gen Zers go to party recently got a harsh reality check: “Nobody goes to old clubs anymore.”

A host of young people said those who went out drinking were in the minority, calling clubs “overrated”, “a waste of money” and “unattractive”.

“Baby I’m exhausted, I just want to be in my big comfy bed with my cats, snuggling up in my expensive pajamas with a Woodwick candle crackling on the side while I’m in granny oblivion,” one person wrote on comments on TikTok. .

“I want to be this person so bad, but I’m literally so sleepy all the time,” chimed in another.

The cultural shift has ruffled the feathers of their tough peers, who balked at the idea that the club is somehow “bad” and slammed the crowd as “boring”.

Meanwhile, a millennial offered her advice, encouraging Zoomers to get out of bed and hit the clubs.

“Do it when you’re young, while you have energy, while you’re not that hungry, and make those memories with your friends,” Ginny, a travel vlogger, said in a TikTok video, arguing that “people at the beginning of 20-somethings should celebrate more.”

Meanwhile, MillennialCharli xcx, 32, says she’s still letting loose “the same thing” she’s always done.

“I think there’s a beauty in, like, going for it,” the “Brat” hitmaker said on Emma Chamberlain’s Anything Goes podcast.

Others on TikTok agreed.

“I spent my 20s very serious about life and never went out, but now my favorite memories are of festivals and late nights – life is meant to be enjoyed,” one person commented.

“Grandma culture is fun only on occasion. But like, I’m 20 not 85 lol I wanna live a life,” said someone else.
