Hollywood heavyweight Glenn Close, 77, has shunned the Hollywood spotlight for a quieter life in Montana.
The iconic actress, known for her performances in Fatal Attraction and The Wife, now calls the charming town of Bozeman home, trading luxury for a simpler existence surrounded by family and nature.
“Today, my home is in Bozeman, Montana. All my siblings live here,” Close told The Wall Street Journal. “My modest 1892 brick house has a front porch where I can see the mountains and say hello to the neighbors.”
The “fully restored” three-bedroom, three-bathroom brick home boasts a 2,316-square-foot floor plan, blending historic charm with modern conveniences like stainless steel appliances and an open floor plan.
She bought the mansion in 2016 for $699,000, records obtained by The Post show.
“A happy place to live!” previous listing noted.
Located just a short walk from downtown, the cozy retreat also features a sunny backyard — a perfect escape for the actress, who left New York City in 2019.
But Close isn’t stopping at just one house in Montana.
She told the Journal she is working on plans for a second property in the area.
“I’m building a bigger house about half an hour outside of town. It will be my Zen farmhouse and our family retreat,” she said. “In the back will be a stone cottage, reminding me of the best years of my childhood.”
The move to Montana was more than a geographic change—it marked a deeper return to the things that grounded the 8-time Oscar nominee.
“When I was little, I took solace in nature and that has never changed,” Close said.
She added that her goal is to create a legacy for her daughter and future generations.
“To come back here and be with my siblings and have a piece of land outside the city that will always be here,” she explained. “This is my legacy. I just feel incredibly lucky.”
Her move to Big Sky Country came a year before the pandemic sparked similar movements among city dwellers across the country.
In a 2021 interview with Mountain Outlaw, Close reflected on the emotional appeal of her new home.
“Not only is Bozeman my home, but I couldn’t wait to get back here,” she said. “When I left to go to that job, Jesse and Tina [her sisters] they were there to drop me off at the airport. It was so wonderful. I realized how much I’m afraid to leave.”
While embracing her peaceful Montana lifestyle, Close hasn’t slowed down professionally.
She stars in Netflix’s Back in Action alongside Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx and will appear in Hulu’s highly anticipated series All’s Fair, created by Ryan Murphy and starring Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts and Sarah Paulson.
On the personal front, the actress told Drew Barrymore last week that she hasn’t pursued a romantic relationship since her 2015 split from biotech engineer David Shaw.
When asked if she’s open to dating again, Close answered honestly: “I don’t know. I mean, I’m always up for anything, but I’m so happy right now. I’m not looking.”
Instead, the three-time Golden Globe winner is focused on her family, career and personal happiness.
“I’m not a very comfortable social person, so I don’t really jump to go to a party. So, yeah, I’m fine,” she explained.
For Close, Montana isn’t just a new address—it’s a new chapter in a storied life filled with family, natural beauty, and the simple joys of home.
“I think these are going to be the best years of my life,” she said.
