Exhausted mum talks about husband’s annoying habit that keeps her up at night: ‘Men never do anything in silence’

Nothing really tests the bonds of marriage like crashing bedtime routines.

An Australian woman says she’s had enough of her husband’s late-night shower antics.

“I have asked my husband to take a shower at a reasonable time, like 8:30 p.m.,” she said.

“He wants to take a shower before bed”

This is because it tends to leak between 11pm and midnight, causing her to lose precious sleep.

“Every time he takes a shower late at night, he wakes me up and then I can’t sleep for another two or three hours,” she explained.

When confronted, her husband simply said, “He wants to take a shower before bed.”

But for the exhausted mother, her days are tiring enough as it is.

“Working and taking care of the kids the next day is exhausting,” she said.

Frustrated, she turned to her community’s Facebook moms group for advice.

“So others see his actions as selfish? “He doesn’t see where I’m coming from,” she asked.

“a choice”

Many commentators were quick to criticize his behavior.

β€œHe can absolutely shower at a different time without affecting his quality of life. Being awake all the time is horrible!” wrote one mother.

“I think in this situation, he has to compromise,” said another.

Some wanted further details.

“Does he wake you up because he’s taking a shower in the bathroom?” Or is it because he’s coming in to get his clothes and things?” asked one person.

The original poster clarified that it was a mix of the two.

“He wakes me up from the shower and then goes in to get clothes with a phone torch light,” she said.

Others suggested he use another shower at home, but that didn’t solve the problem either.

“He has tried both, but they are next to each other and both have the same effect,” she explained.

Some commenters offered a different perspective, suggesting that if his late showers were due to work, it might be reasonable.

But it is not so.

“Definitely a choice to stay up late,” she said.

It doesn’t seem to be running water, but her patience is running out.

“Men never do anything quietly,” she joked.
