She was in one Mr– age à trois.
She put the “BF” in “BFFs”. A woman named Sarah has formed one of the most unique groups ever after discovering that her gay bestie was interested in them and vice versa.
“My friend took my boyfriend back,” Sarah said in a viral video posted on the Love Don’t Judge YouTube channel.
She and James first met in high school and were in a monogamous heterosexual relationship for nine years. That all changed last year when Sarah’s friend and gay best friend, Hunter, admitted he had developed feelings for both her and her boyfriend, whom she met while they were looking for a place to live.
“We were sitting doing things and he said ‘I have something to tell you guys, I have feelings for you both,'” she recalled. “And James went, ‘huh?’ And I said ‘same!’ without skipping a beat.”
Hunter said he found the recall “confusing” as well. “I looked after him as a little more than a friend, but at the same time I knew I was gay,” he said in the clip. Meanwhile, James had never been with a man before and was having a hard time reconciling his love.
But he eventually embraced his feelings and voila, their unconventional polyamorous arrangement was born.
Now, James and Sarah both identify as “bisexual” while their third wheel claims he’s “biromantic.”
As far as hanky panky goes when it comes to this man-who, some weirdos discovered that Sara and James have sex and James and Hunter make noise.
Meanwhile, Hunter “pleases” Sara in other ways, because he is only attracted to the same sex.
Interestingly, the polyamorous trifecta wanted to form a romantic menage de trois — which generally involves a man with many women — but decided to make an exception given their three-way attraction.
“We never thought about adding a third person to the relationship before,” said Sarah. “I’m a jealous person.”
Hunter also believed that three is a crowd, saying, “I prefer monogamy until we get into whatever that is.”
People close to them have not accepted their alternative lifestyle at all.
“One of my friends was surprised by that,” Sarah said. “She was asking me if I was okay.”
She said her family even asked her if the arrangement was her choice or her boyfriend’s.
However, the three little lovebirds won’t let the haters rain on their polyamorous parade.
“I feel like when we first started we were worried about how we were perceived and what our friends and family would think of us, but at the end of the day we’re just doing what makes us happy and if people want to judge, so be it.” James said.
