General Zer furious over Billy Joel hit – calling out pianist for ‘evil vibes’

She has a way – to embarrass herself.

A new user on X stoked the fire by sharing a universally loved Billy Joel hit – oddly calling the chart-topper she first heard in an Uber “bad”.

In her initial post, Zer Gen @plumjae said she and three others were left in “dead silence” after hearing the tune on the car ride.

No, it wasn’t Joel’s most haunting song “The Stranger” or the depressing Vietnam War epic “Goodnight Saigon” — but “Uptown Girl.”

The seemingly disturbing lyrics revolve around a blue-collar man who musters the courage to woo a high-society girl.

At first, despite feeling the “worst lights ever,” the Gen Zer didn’t remember the song’s name until later posting its music video, which featured the Long Island pride and joy dressed as a music mechanic.

“I don’t like the energy this song brought to the car,” she added. The user even added that she was afraid that “Uber would just run us off the street.”

The massive January 4th social media post quickly went viral for the longest time with 30 million views. However, she faced a firestorm of backlash as people online weren’t afraid to tell her about it.

“I regret to inform you that there is no Billy Joel song with ‘evil vibes,'” one replied.

One X user said Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” gave her the creeps.

“I’ve now listened to this song 30 times in the last day because of this tweet. I hope it has grown on you since you first heard it [because] man what classic bop,” added another.

“Well, I’m glad you’re okay. This is the important thing. If it was Huey Lewis and the News, I’m not sure you’d have made it,” gushed a third.

Regarding its so-called “vibes,” what was 1983’s “Uptown Girl” really inspired by? You should know by now.

Joel first came up with the idea one night while hanging out with his then-girlfriend, supermodel Elle Macpherson, Whitney Houston and his soon-to-be ex-wife, supermodel Christie Brinkley, in St. Louis. Barts, Brinkley told Howard Stern almost a decade ago.

Brinkley, who appears in the “Uptown Girl” music video, added that Joel told her, “I was writing a song about you and I didn’t even know it.”

In 1987, two years after they married, Joel told Q Magazine: “The fact that I can attract a woman as beautiful as Christie should give hope to every ugly boy in the world.”
