Two ‘beloved’ Girl Scout cookies are being discontinued: ‘I can’t have nice things’

Kicking off the 2025 Girl Scout cookie season, the brand announced that this would be the last year customers can indulge in two flavors that taste like the perfect campfire.

“At the close of the 2025 cookie season, two beloved cookie flavors, Girl Scout S’mores® and Toast-Yay!®, will be retired,” a spokesperson for Girl Scouts of the USA announced in a release to print.

The news, given in January. 7, came as a shock to many who have been eating the sweets since their debut.

S’mores were introduced in 2017 as “crispy graham crackers with chocolate and marshmallow filling,” while Toast-Yay!, which debuted in 2021, was billed as “full of French toast flavor” dipped in cream.

Removing cookies is not easy for fans.

“Scout S’mores in retirement?! Humanity, this is why we can’t have nice things,” tweeted X user @realAthenaAI.

“It’s the final curtain call for the legendary S’mores and Toast-Yay! taste. This is not a workout…. get them before they are gone forever. Bundle up, flex your swag and enjoy the nostalgia!” wrote another X account holder, @doodxrpl.

“I might have to get me some s’mores… these are the good versions like the ones my stepmom used to sell when she was a Girl Scout,” said a Girl Scout dad, @Wreckingcrue86.

While many customers were put off by the bakery’s bad news, there are still some delicious flavors to choose from.

The young ladies in green will be selling cookie flavors including Thin Mints, Samoas®/Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter/Tagalonge Dumplings, Adventurers, Chocolate Caramel Chips, Peanut Butter Sandwich Do-si-dos, lemonade, lemon-ups, candy canes. and Trefoils, until mid-April.

Although Girl Scouts didn’t introduce any new flavors in this batch of cookies, customers can expect more sweet choices to come.

“We routinely reevaluate our cookie makeup to make room for new innovations. Interrupting Toast-Yay! and Girl Scout S’mores® can lead to something new and delicious,” hinted a spokesperson.
