House builder reveals ‘Resusilient Fire’ neighborhood to limit destruction from fires

KB Home on Thursday discovered its first Wildfire-Resiller neighborhood in southern California, marking one of the many solutions that the home building industry is working to protect structures and communities from the destructive effects of natural disasters.

KB Home, one of the largest house builders in the SH.BA, announced that the KB Home Dixon Community in Escondido is the first in the country to meet the standards of home fire durability and developed business and safety neighborhoods.

The community was built with fire resistant materials and “was created for the highest level of IBHS protection against contact with flames, radiant heat and amber, which helps to reduce the possibility of wild fire spread,” the company said.

KB Home said he implemented strategies both inside and around homes to prevent wild fires “from becoming catastrophic”.
