A flight of United Airlines from Los Angeles, California to Shanghai, China was forced to make a turn last weekend after one of the pilots realized they would forget their passport.
Flight 198 left Lax at around 2pm on Saturday, March 22, and was flying over the Pacific Ocean on the road to the Chinese metropolis, CNN reported.

Only two hours on the 13-hour-hour journey, the flight had to return and come to San Francisco after it was revealed that one of the captains “did not have their passport on board,” said a United representative in a state, from Straits Times.
Yang Shuhan, a Chinese passenger aboard the flight, remembered hearing the “frustrated” flying flyer announcing InterCom that he “forgot () his passport”.
The aircraft is reported to have been affected around 5am, according to Flight Aware, after which 257 passengers were provided with $ 15 “meal and compensation” by United.
A new crew then took over and the flight departed on 9 afternoon, landing Shanghai approximately 6 hours after time.
Before going down to San Francisco, United had addressed the pleasant situation in a report to the passengers, especially leaving the part with the wrong travel doctor.
“Your flight was diverted to San Francisco because of an unexpected Crerew -related issue, requires a new salt,” reps said, according to a wing view. “Once they arrive, we will get you back on your way to change as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for this disruption and appreciate your patience.”

The passengers were no one very charming with the gaffe, whom they thought was a ridiculous unintentional mistake.
“How can anyone confuse this bad at work?” A suspected passenger wrote on a viral behind the Chinese social networking platform Rednote, CNN reported.
“UA198 Devive to SFO because the pilot forgot his passport?” Turned on another in x in a post to the carrier. “Now stuck 6+ hours. Completely unacceptable. @United, what compensation are you offering for this total mistreatment?”
“Hello there. We honestly apologize for this sudden interruption of travel,” replied the glove of United. “For help with your reservation, you can talk to our agent in the question team at http://united.com/aod.”
Unfortunately, failure did not just disrupt the flight in question – passengers on the return of the AUA199 flight from Shanghai to Los Angeles were also affected by the delay.
A Shanghai -based business traveler, who decided to go unnamed, claimed that their LA flight was also postponed for about six hours, forcing them to get a new ticket so they could make a connection, CNN reported.
“Because of the delay, I have to rebuild all my plans for the world, which is really inappropriate,” remembered “frustrated” leaflets.
Meanwhile, Shukor Yusof, the founder of Endau Analytics based in Singapore, a aviation industry advisory company, called “embarrassing” and “unacceptable” error for a global airline like United, adding that “indicates a lack of discipline”.
