People take semaglutides as ozepic typically expect to lose excess weight – not hair.
But this is exactly what happened to Desiree Rodriguez, who shared her journey on social media as her hair began to fall while they were in Semaglutide Generic.
“My hair began to shed about 20 pounds in my weight loss,” Rodriguez the post told. “I noticed clusters of hair coming out in the shower that easily made a handful of three or four.”
“If you are on a journey for weight loss, you have to hear,” she said in a tick in September. “You absolutely need to eat straight and get vitamins.”
She admitted that it may not be the easiest thing to remember to do “because if you’re in a GLP-1, you are probably not hungry”, but that’s why “it’s important that when you do it, you are eating the right things”.
Nine months in, Rodriguez told The Post that she is lost 35 pounds and is weight workout – and while hair loss has been slow, the situation is not yet ideal.
“Since that video, my hair is sitting, but there is even more than the” average “of hair loss whenever she washed her hair,” she said.
“Thankfully, I started with a lot of thick hair, so it’s not cute. However, I have noticed many who use a GLP1 and have thinner hair have experienced hair loss patches.”
Rodriguez, who lives in Fresno, Calif., Is by no means the first person to have this problem. People who get semaglutide – active ingredient of drugs like Ozepic and Wegovy – have long caught for hair loss.
The US Food and Drug Administration has followed more than two dozen hair complaints from semaglutide users.
Semaglutides and other GLP-1 drugs mimic the GLP-1 hormone that is naturally produced in the intestine and plays a key role in regulating blood sugar and appetite.
These popular medicines, used to treat diabetes and overweight, help promote weight loss by reducing appetite and food.

But semaglutide drugs should not all blame – hair loss is a well -known side effect of rapid weight loss.
This is because suddenly pound spilling can “lead to a breakdown of the natural cycle of hair glands”, Dr. Christina Han, a dermatologist who specializes in hair loss, told The Post earlier.
The phenomenon usually occurs in the three-month sign, and while it is usually temporary, medical experts suggest talking to your doctor whether nutritional deficiencies can contribute to hair loss.
“Ozepic reduces appetite; As a result, people eat less and smaller quantities, ”Dr. Jesse E. Smith writes on his website. “For those individuals who do not meet vitamins and minerals, the loss of these essential items can cause hair loss, thinning or delayed growth.”
Smith notes that solutions may include taking additions to hair health – such as vitamin B complex, vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc – or an actual treatment used to stimulate hair as a minidil.
In the case of Rodriguez, it began to take the liquid multivitamin of Mary Ruth and Minoxidil, which – along with some dietary changes – seemed to help.
“After starting to get an addition to hair loss and add 100+ grams of protein to dies, I noticed the hair spilled while” she told the post.
“I try to share in my account Tiktok’s importance of protein and vitamins during a GLP1.”
