You may soon be able to eat your ozepica … kind.
GLP-1 supplements are blooming, promising to give Ozepic and Wegovy-like benefits without costly injections.
The latest competitor is the GLP Booster of Notco, a first botanical powder of the right you can add anything to help you eat less and the brand means to be on the shelves within the year.
“The way people eat are changing. Whether it is a plant-based, with high protein, or now GLP-1 conscious food, it should be part of the solution, not the problem, ”said Matias Muchnick, founder and CEO of Notco, for The Post.
What is a GLP amplifier?
GLP-1 receptor agonists are synthetic drugs that mimic the GLP-1 hormone, which is naturally released into the intestine after eating. This hormone helps regulate appetite by creating a sense of fullness.
“GLP-1 drugs work by introducing a long form of GLP-1 into your body. That is why they are so effective in reducing physical hunger and mental obsession with food – what some call ‘food noise’, “Muchnick said.
But Notco works a little differently. Instead of presenting GLP-1 synthetic, Muchnick explained that the GLP Booster uses natural ingredients to stimulate the production of your hormone body, just like eating a high fiber meal. It also blocks enzymes that break down GLP-1, keeping it active longer.
“In terms of simply: GLP-1 drug adds something new to your system. Our technology enhances what is already there, ”said Muchnick.
While Notco’s amplifier can help reduce hunger and increase saturation, Muchnick said its impact on “food noise” is still being studied.
“Since we are working with biochemistry of your body rather than overcoming it, the effects can be thinner and more gradual than a pharmaceutical-but potentially longer and more stable over time,” he added.
No needles, no problem
While known GLP-1 drugs require daily or weekly injections, Notco’s GLP Booster completely passes the needles, using food as its distribution method.
It will be sold as a mixture of powder that consumers can add their home foods, whether sprinkled on pasta or mixed in a smoothie.
It will also be available as an ingredient for manufacturers, allowing brands to include it in everyday foods such as snack, oscillations and foods ready to eat.
Notco has already developed products like full almonds covered with unsaturated chocolate that represent their GLP booster. Muchnick predicts that food products containing amplifiers will hit the shelves within the next year.
“What we are seeing now is a fundamental change in the way people think about eating.”

“Formats ready for the consumer, a powder mixture is also available faster,” he said.
The cost of lowering calories
While botanical mixing can slightly increase production costs, Muchnick said the goal is to keep it affordable and scaled.
“Think about it as a fortification – similar to how brands added food proteins over the years,” he said. “Over time, as adoption increases, the economies of scale will reduce the cost, making this a major solution.”
Should you use the amplifier if you are already on GLP-1?
“These medicines are already artificially increasing GLP-1 levels, so adding a natural amplifier will not necessarily provide additional benefits-but it would not intervene,” Muchnick explained.
He said the amplifier is ideal for people who do not want to get pharmaceuticals, but still want a natural way to help regulate appetite, as well as those who go through GLP-1.
“Of course, if someone is in GLP-1 medications and wants to try it, they must first talk to their doctor,” Muchnick said.
A new market for drug users for weight loss
With 1 in 8 Americans who have tried a GLP-1 medicine, food consumption and spending habits in the grocery have changed in recent years.
“What we are seeing now is a fundamental change in the way people think about eating,” Muchnick said. “People with GLP-1 medication and even those who look for only smarter foods-but leave the foods they want to break and lead to overeating.”
While GLP-1 drugs are known to help users lose weight quickly, they can also have an unfortunate side effect: muscle loss.
“That is why this is not just about controlling appetite-it is about creating a new category of food that works with your biology to maintain muscle, metabolic health and long-term vibrancy,” Muchnick said.
