A viral trend has taken over social media showing a dangerous action done by many flight passengers.
Travelers are participating in the trend of “airport theory” by reaching their gates 15 minutes before departure.
A tik -Video shows a leaflet that sets a timer for 15 minutes as they walk towards security.
The user, who was traveling with a large group of people, did not show if they had precedencers.
After 13 minutes, Tiktoker discovered that they did it successfully at their gate in time to catch the flight.
Another video Tiktok shows a leaflet that tests the trend at the Los Angeles airport saying: “Tad is current 9:24 and my flight begins to ride in four minutes of action. We are in sure now, so let’s see how quickly we can overcome this.”
Tiktoker said security went quickly, but they had to get a bus to be transferred to the gate.
“My flight is only now in the dormitory, so we do it,” the user said, adding that the dormitory process was delayed.
“The theory of the airport is true,” the user concluded.
Another Tiktok user posted a PSA, saying, “For those of you think about testing the airport theory …” The user ended the video with a blow showing the gate monitor that read “closed flight”, which means no passengers were allowed to ride, and travelers mistaken the flight.
The user ended, “don’t do it.”
Fox News Digital reached Tiktok users who seem to be participating in the travel trend.
Gary Leff, a Texas -based travel industry expert and author of the blog “Wing View”, told Fox News Digital that people tend to appear at the airport very early.
“The tips for when to reach is very conservative. But the ‘airport theory’ suggests appearing 15 minutes before departure is cutting it too close, “Leff said.
“Airlines and airports give very conservative instructions because they [first] Do not want to blame from distant occasions when someone appears closer to departure and lacks their flight, “Leff added.
“And and and [second] They benefit from the people who are there earlier, read and spend money in retail shops while they wait, ”he said.
Leff said there are many things that need to be factorized with the arrival of the airport, such as access to accelerated safety such as Precheck or Clear and the number of bags being controlled.
A TSA spokesman told Fox News Digital, “We recommend that travelers reach the checkpoint two hours before an inner flight and three hours before an international flight.”
“It all comes to know how long the different parts of the travel will take, how much your buffer gives you, and how bad it would be if you suffer a two -standard deviation event on the way,” Leff said.
