A medieval French castle that drips with history – and probably Napoleon’s hidden gold – is on sale, demanding $ 3.8 million.
Chateau from Saint-Chartier, a 1,500-year-old Saint-Chartier castle filled with secrets, is a gem for treasure hunters and history buffs.
This is not just a house-is a 15,607 square meter time machine.
The five-storey chateau houses 34 rooms, including nine bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a wild tavern of Mexican style.
Add to the large halls of the halls, secret passages, dungeons and an observation tower, and you have a medieval masterpiece. On the third floor is a game of games and private cinema when you do not follow Napoleon’s ghost.
The features include marble baths, flooring with parks, some fireplaces and stone stairs. A 15th-century construction seals the deal as a nugget of bonus history.
The Spanish historical Ivo Forma claims in his book, “Death in Saint-Chartier: Murder and intrigue in the heart of France,” Napoleon dragged here after Waterloo and gripped an asset somewhere in property. The locals swear it is true.
This list of Chateau guests is one who is in history. Once owned by a cousin of Richard Lionheart and a Napoleon Insider, she also hosted Joan of Arc (supposedly) and inspired heavy literary weights such as Honoré de Balzac and George Sand, who placed her novel “Les Maîtres Sonneurs” here.
From wars to reconstruction, this castle takes a beat and turns bright. A 19th century glow and a decade of TLC since 2010 have it prepared for its future owner.
