A new version of the monopoly has been published – and there is no need for mathematics.
Hasbro announced an updated version of the led board game that replaces cash and banker with a mobile app that deals with all transactions for you.
A smartphone or tablet will take over the role of banker through the Monopoly app banking, which holds the money and property traces of each player.
The game is expected to appear in most of the biggest sellers this August for $ 24.99, though the mobile app that will accompany it is free.
Monopoly app banking has a similar board layout with the traditional monopoly board, but now feels alternatives to children with key properties, Verge reported.
Instead of Park Place and Boardwalk, the most valuable property on the board will be a missile release pillow and the moon. Other properties include a chocolate factory, a VR roller sled and a dinosaur park.
Players will choose a sign and a matching bank card scanned in the mobile app Property cards will also be scanned in the app.
The updated game “eliminates the need for physical and counting money” and will speed up the game, making it more accessible to new players and harder to deceive.
However, many are angry about change.
Parents and teachers often use the monopoly as a way to tea children about mathematics and money, and this new version removes that picture.
“Call me a gamedite, but the whole point of these board games is to tea children on how to make mathematics, how to treat money and count money. Children these days will never learn or practice basic arithmetic,” one person commented in the Verge report.
“It doesn’t mind me naturally that they make an version that uses an app,” another added. “The same cannot be said for the fact that they reduced the version positively for children. “

Others say the removal of the banks receives the game entertainment.
“Let’s get a game that is already 90% luck and remove the only entertainment: handling cash,” said one person. “Why not remove hotels, table or even friends? This will make it safer for sure. “
“Why do we even have the board? You can make the whole game as one app, ”another.
Change also means that iconic board games may no longer act as an alternative to screen time for children.
“I am all to design new games about the ability to have embedded telephone applications, but I’m not to get classic games and remove part in the technology,” someone said.
