What if there was a bath treatment that not only left your skin soft and healthy, but it also works in your psyche to give your confidence a great encouragement?
Enter Lush, the British giant of cosmetics after the iconic Bath bomb, which only promises it with his “Validation Facial” self-love.
Part of the bathroom treatment, the positive affirmation session of the part, the unique experience was created with the help of mental health experts and the benefits of the skin to leave you on – inside and out.
In a cold winter afternoon, I headed towards the first and single bath of Lush, located above its Lexington Avenue store at the top of Manhattan, to try “Validation Facial” of Upper Manhattan .
“By the time you go out, we want you to feel like you are really held and backed by the therapist, and that you feel inspired and ready to get new things,” Ruby West, the granddaughter of a lush founder which provides the company with research and development support, Tod the Post.
“Validation face” is not just about skin care; Designed is created to help clients cultivate a healthier, more positive self-image.
The treatment was inspired by one of the founders of Lush, who, after passing a harsh division, realized that true healing did not come from finding a new partner – came from learning to love him.
I was a little skeptical about the soundtrack, worried that I would crush on a stranger stripping unwanted compliments.
McKenzie
“It was of the utmost importance for her to be able to advance in life,” West said. “She had to start knowing how beautiful she was from the inside.”
To help on this trip to lush customers, “Facial Validation” is paired with a vowel sound curated by the lush handmade sound, displaying lifting words from the founders of the company. Registered in the English season, it contains the soothing sounds of rotation waves and soft birds in the background.
I will admit, at first I was a little skeptical about the soundtrack. I was worried that I would either be distracted by the assertions or suppressed in a stranger who was removing unwanted compliments.
But I couldn’t have been wrong.
Instead of feeling like a delightful session for self-help, the certificates felt more like a positive internal monologue. The words were chosen with the help of a cognitive behavior therapist who carefully chose phrases designed to raise the soul and promote a sense of peace.
“Soundtrack is absolutely essential for treatment,” West said. “We want those messages to penetrate the skin and take you to another place.”
In a path, a gentle voice says, “Just relax and enjoy what is there, your life, as it is.”
Another song offers the memory: “It all comes down to self -esteem. Go to and achieve what you will do. To love yourself so that other people are able to love you. “
The words are intertwined with Shanties and folk songs of the Irish Sea, and even these had a surprisingly empowering effect.
“Wauld what would you do when your problems are over? Seed would you do when the sun shines again? “Ask a song.” Wold what would you boil the boiler?
While these words were on me, the licensed solenge Jacques aesthetist works her magic on my face. There were about a dozen steps using lush products, including the balm of spicy and spicy chamomile dream time, their Argan face oil, and a fresh cosmetic disaster mask.
But what you would not expect from the name is that this face also includes an upper body and foot massage, hot and cold stones, a leg cleaner, and masks for the lips and under the eyes.
Before I knew, the soundtrack came to an end, and Jacques brought me back to reality with a soothing rubbing of the lush temple balm. Filled with grapefruit oils and rosemary, it is designed to clean your head and give you a refreshing stimulus.
Looking in the mirror, my skin was on, soft and refreshed. Unlike the other faces I have tried, there was no painful exfoliation that left my face inflamed. Even better, I did not suffer any division in the days that followed.
But the biggest transformation was not just on my skin. The stress of the day evaporated, and I felt calm, revitalized and cared for. I even felt quite sure to pass by reprinting my composition before I went out to the bathroom.
Then, Jacques coveted me in the lobby, where we have reached the goals I had set for both my skin and overall well -being before treatment. She also sent me with some product samples to get home.
At $ 160, 60-minute treatment was not free, but it exceeded every face I had. It was not just about skin care-it was a complete experience with full body, which also prioritized my mental well-being.
So did I come out of the lush bath that radiated confidence and shine from the inside? You will need to ask the foreigners I passed along the way to the subway.
What I say is that the winter blue melted away, and for the rest of the afternoon, I felt a rare sense of tranquility, peace and inner beauty. And let’s be honest, that’s not small these days.
