The Americans are factoring in their ancestry as they book their vacation, with many excavations in their family trees.
The trend of travel known as “root travel” is a photographer to momentum and increases the number of tourist visits to European countries, according to experts.

Adam Duckworth, president and founder of Travelmation, told Fox News Digital that he has more clients seeking to plan their roots travel.
“This trend has grown in previous years, with people reserving these types of vacation in different ways,” he said.
“Some customers come to us with years of search, and they want to spend weeks abroad fully devoted to their family history.”
Duckworth said root travelers will hire local drivers and guides who know the area well to help them locate unique destinations for their personal stories.
He says this form of travel is more common among generations.
“They have the time to research the past, and they are growing up attached to what they are learning.”
He added, “They also have finances to support a trip like this, and they often invite other family members to join them.”
