Zoe Lewis spent years caught in a exhaustive cycle – losing weight through strict diets and large training plans, just to win them all, as soon as she stopped.
But when the scales hit nearly 236 lbs, she knew she needed a different approach.
During the 14 months, it poured about 93 bs, not through frail diets, but adopting a sustainable, long -term approach to a healthier lifestyle.
Now 23 years old and a fitness influencer, she is inspiring and is educating about 40,000 Tiktok followers with her story, hoping to encourage others to lose weight in the right way.
The day that everything changed
“I have always been an overweight person, with my weight fluctuating between 85-100kgs [about 187-220 lbs] Most of my adult life, ”the Golden Coast woman told news.com.au.
“I was following the fiction diets and training plans that would take me to a lower weight, and as soon as I stopped them, I would immediately jump up to 90-100 kgs [about 198-220 lbs].
“I hated the way I felt and came, and I wanted to be better for myelf. So the day I hit 107 kgs [about 236 lbs]I decided to leave the fabrications and start my journey for loss of 14-month weight to 65 kgs [about 143 lbs]. ”
Despite being heavier, Mrs. Lewis said she was still in some way and followed the training gym in the circuit, though unstable.
However, she believed that the main issue was that she did not regard her as a natural “active” person.
Educating yourself and building healthy habits
“I never found a working routine. I would do it until the end of a six -week challenge, then I would go back to old habits immediately, ”she explained.
“I’ve never walked and I would decide to take the opportunity to lie down in bed when I had free time.
“My diet was scary and consisted mainly of foods made, made easily from the grocery store and sweets, and I never found myself cooking. I barely had vegetables, and my intestinal health was incredibly bad.”
Unlike her attacks of the past, when Mrs. Lewis became serious about losing weight, she made sure to really educate her, introducing her restrictive diet and she had to know how to avoided the body.
“I learned why protein, fats and carbohydrates are important and why foot and strength were the best ways to lose weight,” she said.
“I constantly regulates my diet and routine throughout the process to ensure that I continued to lose weight in a healthy way.”
Walking was the key to its journey for weight loss
One of the biggest shifts on her journey was her approach to the movement.
Instead of relying on intensely, short -term challenges, she did every day by walking an non -negotiable part of her routine.
“She played a large part,” she revealed. “One thing I say is walking is the key to loss of fat. Strength training is the key to maintaining fat loss.”
It began with a goal of seven to eight thousand steps a day, and it now makes about 12 to 15,000 averages on average.
It was not just about losing weight, anyway. Walking became a way of cleaning her mind, staying active without burning, and prevent slipping into old “lazy” habits.
“I take every opportunity I can to take my steps. They don’t all come from walking right away, ”she said.
“I walked through the office as much as I can, presenting a bottle of smaller water and taking the opportunity to talk to people instead of calling.
“I use my lunch break to walk and eat when I get back to my table. At the time I’m home from the office, I’ve used 10,000 steps or near it.”
In the days she works from home, she has a standing pillow under her table to give preference to her steps, and she also goes for a walk after work and in the morning on weekends.
Of course, even with a strong routine, there are days when the motivation is smart, and discipline comes here.
“I just have to remind myself of my goals,” she said.
“Change does not happen without change! Discipline for me is more important than motivation, as motivation will not always be there.
“You have to teach yourself that doing nothing you do not get closer to your goals. Now walking is a part of my routine I couldn’t live without.”
Tips to make fun of the legs
To make a walk more enjoyable, she has some tips up to the sleeve.
“I do things I like to call” color walks “, where I will choose a color and try to find as many things in my walking that is that color and make a picture,” she said.
“It really makes the walk entertaining and more conscious. A good podcast, audiobook and playlist will also never fail. “
She also ensures that her walks are no more than 45 minutes to keep them in and enjoy.
Looking back, Mrs. Lewis wants her to understand that transformation takes time.
“I would tell anyone who wants to start their journey for losing weight that there is no quick adjustment or hack – everything has to do with diet and exercise and leaving time to do their own things.
“Your weight will be of little fluctuation and that’s normal and eight. At the end of the day, to really start, it’s about advantages and education.
“Educate yourself why food and exercise are important, change your opinion that food is fuel and regularly remember yourself for your purposes.”
