Miami Beach gives spring Break Troublemakers a ‘Control of Reality’ with Viral TV Video

Formerly an enclave for spring circuit breakers looking for the warmest weather, the city of Miami Beach is making a common effort to curb the annoying partis starting a “Spring Break Reality Check” campaign.

The PSA video on TV reality shows how many unwanted college students are at the destination in Florida.

“Consider this your reality control. Spring break and Miami Beach do not mix, ”the city of Miami Beach wrote on X.

The show is false but the rules apply

The video begins with a group of people of college traveling to Miami Beach in what a young woman says will be “the best spring rest”.

About 15 seconds in the promotion, another says: “After we arrived at Miami Beach, things went downhill.”

The video begins in a summary of strict police supervision, DUI Sobriet checkpoints and valuable parking tariffs.

“Apparently, the only thing that was not smuggling was grapes and cheese,” mourns a young woman.

Play according to our rules, or face the consequences

The video is the latest campaign attempt by Miami Beach officials to discourage Rowdy’s discoveries from descending on pristine beaches and well -known nightlife.

“This year is a check of reality, it is showing what will happen if you come here, and you don’t play with our rules,” said Miami Beach Steven Meiner.

Last year’s campaign resulted in Miami Beach seeing limited crowd size and less violence. Police chief Wayne Jones said arrests across the city dropped 8% by March 17, 2024, compared to March 2023.

Police implementation is hoping to see the same effect, if not better, with the parody of “reality control” issued this year.

While the city saw last year’s campaign as a success, some businesses said the masses went far. M2, a Miami Beach nightclub, reported half a million dollars of income losses during this period, according to WSVN.

‘Spring rest and Miami Beach do not mix’

“Reality Control” advertising shows viewers on a website that lists numerous prohibitions to prevent even the most persistent parties from enjoying themselves on the busy weekends of March 13-16 and March 20-23: no vehicle innovation, The tensile fee, the checkpoints are stoked and the closing of all parking in South Beach, a part of the Miami Beach that usually aggravates tourists.
