“It just restores your trust in people.”
A father shared that thinking after being overcome with emotion when a stranger paid for his family’s breakfast – and left a heartfelt message even in taking.
Target J Mack Slaughter, 41, an emergency room doctor, was enjoying breakfast with his wife and three children at Mimi’s Café in Fort Worth, Texas, in early January, as reported news agency reported.
While the father of three was preparing to pay, their waitress in the restaurant surprised him by saying the 85.21 $ family bill had already been repaid by someone.
She delivered the bill.
The father found a handwritten note.
Read, “Thank you for being a great dad.”
Falling over the receipt, Slaughter found another note from the stranger.
The message read: “From a father to a father. Thank you for being dad they need you to be no matter who you are watching. “
The note continued, “We need more men like you. Thank you for letting us all see your love for everyone.”
It was signed, “by a retired army doctor.”
The doctor from Fort Worth said, “I immediately became well.
He added, “No one was looking for my reaction. The person had already disappeared. It was just pure goodness.”
Fox News Digital reached the doctor and dad for further comments.
He told Fox News Digital, “what beautiful, unexpected experience” was this.
Slaughter had played a simple game with his children in the cafe, he said, and was not fully aware that anyone had been observed during his time with his family.
Slaughter, who regularly proves tragic events in his work at the ER, said the act restored his trust in mankind, as noted.
Said slaughter, “I see some of the most terrifying things in the world. But it reminded me that full strangers can do wonderful, beautiful things when you expect less.”
He added, “was only $ 85 to [the stranger] – But for me, it was much more. “
Slaoughter said that “random acts of kindness are so powerful.”
“They remind us that despite all the evils in the world, there are many good things.”
Slaughter is active on social media. He is also the founder of a non -profit organization called Music meets Medicine, who donates instruments and “teaching time for adolescents being treated in children’s hospitals,” as he observes online.
