I clean the graves as a sidehill – this gave me enough money to buy my first home

One man says his side of Graves Clear’s side has enabled him to buy his first home.

Shaun Tookey, 31, has cleared more than 300 graves since he prays to his side business in May 2023.

Families will pay it between $ 187 and $ 312 for a clear deep and $ 437 and $ 562 for a deep, reborn letter and decorative pieces for stones belonging to loved ones.

He said he can take it to two hours and he cleans between two and four tombs a day, during a full -time work as a tree surgeon.

Shaun has been able to buy his first home for his family – saving for a deposit and taking a mortgage – something he says was inaccessible to see me.

He said his work is “useful” and he will often clean his day off during the week and week.

Shaun, from Harlow, Essex, said: “I am trying to run a successful business and provide a service that most people cannot.

“It is a very pleased and very useful job.

“Nice are good to help others who do not know how to go to cleanse their loved ones.

“Many people do not know this service is available.

“This work has given the stability of my family, especially with the way life is difficult in the minute.

“She has allowed us time to save money and buy our first home instead.”

Shaun estimates that he has cleaned over 300 graves well and shares his transformations into Tiktok and Facebook – @Thegraveclener.

Some of his clients come from the mouth, but Shaun says a lot of interest comes from his social media.

He said: “Most of my jobs are through social media, it’s such a big platform and my videos are getting much better.

“I also go by posting leaflets and cards.

“When I go to a cemetery for a job that people will often come to me and say they didn’t know that this service existed in the UK.”

He said: “It all depends on the type of serious, what kind of letters it has.

“Whether or not the family wants gold with gold leaves, then I can do it and if they just want paint, I can supply it.

“I have my standard rates and make additions.”

Shaun cleans between two to four graves a day.

He said: “It can change, I also don’t want to get Mick with how long I get.

“I can do four a day on average, but if they are big jobs I can do two.

“If it’s a foundation stone, I’m cleaning, then it can take 30 minutes to an hour, but the larger graves can take several hours.”

Since the start of his business in May 2023, Shaun said his side business had allowed him to have “stability” and buy his first family home in December 2024.

He said: “He has given us financial freedom in some way.

“I bought our first family home in December 2024, before that, we had rented.

“It was a massive achievement for me, it’s a great feeling to know that your business is working.

“It gives me a steady income to secure a life for my family, something we didn’t think of being possible on this day and age.”
