Woman’s mother-in-law ‘can’t be trusted’ after ‘crossing the line’ with granddaughter

The internet is full of grandparents – especially mothers-in-law – taking liberties with their grandchildren.

From medicating them to sleep, to putting Coca-Cola in their bottles, their behavior is often controversial and the stories always scandalous.

But this fresh haircut tale stands out; and we have the screenshots to prove it.

“I went to take out the trash and guess what?!”

Mom Julia Cheva posted a TikTok about what happened and captioned it: “Guys, I need your help. This is ridiculous.”

It begins with text over photos of her adorable little girl wearing a “Welsh” ponytail.

The text says:

“TEXTIC THOUSANDS. My mother-in-law said we should cut my daughter’s hair because it’s too thin and it doesn’t look good with the ponytail I made.

“I went to take out the trash today and guess what?!”

The vision then cuts to the toddler in her highchair… with a freshly hacked head of hair.

“She cut her bangs [fringe]. Just look at how uneven it is. What can I do to make it look better?”

The furious mother adds: “I told my husband this is the last straw. She crossed the line again.”

In a follow-up video, Julia explains that MIL actually lives with them and has been problematic for a while.

“She can’t be trusted”

The clip attracted nearly half a million views and more than 5,000 comments.

Most people were angry on Julia’s behalf.

“The girl never let that woman around her again. It is not her child who makes those decisions, I am sorry that she cut her beautiful hair”, wrote one emphatically.

The sentiment was echoed by many others, like this viewer who wrote: “Don’t ever leave her alone again. She can’t be trusted.”

Others place the burden of speaking up in MIL on the wife’s husband.

“That would make me angry. Your husband needs to set boundaries with HIS mother. I’m so sorry it happened. Hopefully it can be resolved. Good luck to you,” read one empathetic comment.

Grandparents also weighed in, with one claiming: “I’m a grandma and I would never do it… not without permission.”

A second grandmother added that she was “crossing a line.”

In battles with MILs, the partner often takes his mother’s side; but luckily for Julia, that’s not the case.

“My husband is on my side,” she reports.

She’ll probably need some luck on her side, too.
