“I” sold separately?
Typically, newlyweds are gifted hand towels with “his” and “hers” monograms in celebration of their holy matrimony.
But lavish clothes are apparently the last thing on the uncompromising couple’s list, as the boisterous fiancees are treating themselves to special ‘his’ and ‘hers’ wedding ceremonies.
“She wants a small wedding, he wants a big wedding,” explained one outraged Reddit user of their unnamed sister-in-law’s unusual plans to tie the knot.
“Instead of compromising or working together, they’re each having their own wedding.”
For their non-traditional wedding, the “boujee” bride has organized a micro-destination wedding to be held over three hours away from the couple’s hometown.
Conversely, her son-in-law has organized a big local party
The soon-to-be-weds have secured separate venues, hired staff and created two different gift registries, according to the post – which is sparking outrage from furious readers.
“Stupidest, most selfish thing I’ve ever heard,” one angry commenter scoffed.
“This is crazy,” said another, which was followed by scathing remarks such as, “They are doomed” and “They are predators carrying out a massive cash grab.”
“Of course I wouldn’t attend both weddings,” wrote an equally offended viewer.
“Definitely not [buying] or two separate gifts, another saliva.
But unfortunately for the Redditor, skipping or skimping on one of the ceremonies just isn’t an option.
“We have to go to both,” they shockingly revealed in replies to comments. “[My sister-in-law] is just a little depressed and has already thrown a tantrum at him.
And when it comes to future sister-in-law ceremonies, not only do the loved ones have to be present for both parties, but they also have to pay over $200 a night – in a two-night minimum — for lodging at a hotel on the side of the mountain.Â
The upset complainer admitted that the spouses-to-be seem to have a “strong relationship” adding, however, that their separate “I dos” would appear to be against the whole idea of marriage. Â
“As for the two of you coming together,” asked the Redditor, “why do you each have your own special thing?”.
Forcing guests to blindly follow orders seems to be all the rage among the latest wave of brides and grooms.
NYC sweethearts Nova and Reemo Styles previously told The Post that they were charging guests $333 per person for tickets to their Big Apple-themed big day.
Phil, a man in the United Kingdom, separately revealed that his best friend, Jake, charged him and other well-wishers $2,528 to participate in the pledge exchange.
“They basically got a free wedding out of her,” Phil quipped in a virtual joke.
