Influencer ‘Brad’ Brazenly Defends Her Kidnapping Hoax: ‘I Was Just Having Fun’

She was just “joking”.

Instagram content creator Victoria Rose has revealed she faked her kidnapping, claiming she just wanted to have some fun.

The influencer, who boasts over 3.7 million followers on Instagram, had posted a series of now-deleted posts from the alleged kidnappers following news that she had been abducted in Nigeria, the Daily Mail reported.

“I have kidnapped Vicki”, is written in one of the alarming posts. “She is with me in Nigeria. I demand $1 million for her release.”

“I would like to laugh, and so I find it funny,” Rose said. X / @woahhvickyyy

The “upset” bozo responded to the sick plot in a now-deleted Instagram Live video.

“We got away with the joke,” admitted Rose – who posts under the handle Whoa Vicky – in the clip. “I don’t drink and I don’t go clubbing, so that’s how I find my entertainment.”

While the content creator admitted that a fake kidnapping wasn’t the “best way” to get her kicks, she claimed that “sometimes, you want to have a little fun.”

Rose apologized to X.

“The Bible says laughter is good for the soul,” Rose suggested. “So I’d like to laugh, and that’s how I find it funny.”

She then strangely shifted the blame, claiming she can’t date many people because of her “Christian values” and is therefore forced to look for other ways to entertain herself.

“We all struggle in different areas. So I’m not saying it was the right thing to do,” she said. “But I take responsibility and ownership. I am sorry for anyone I have harmed in the process.”

On Monday, Rose uploaded a photo to Instagram of herself with a man who was tagged in Lagos, Nigeria, the same place where her social media had claimed she was kidnapped.

Her followers didn’t seem to think the deaf trick was such a laughing matter and flocked to let her know.

“The lie that you were kidnapped for this? Ok,” gushed one critic, while another wrote, “Lying about being kidnapped is a bad job!!”

“The same man who kidnapped her? Real question,” asked a third, referring to the man in the photo.

Victoria has since expressed regret for the cretinous act on X.

“I just wanted to come here one last time to sincerely apologize to anyone I may have hurt during this prank,” she wrote. “Not thinking things through comes with consequences and I’m paying for it now.”

Rose added, “I also apologize for how this situation reflects on me – I never meant to make any black person or any country, especially Nigeria, look bad. If that’s the case, I’m very sorry. I I love Nigeria, I love my brother, my father and I love my people.”

In 2023, Alabama nursing student Carlee Russell faked her own kidnapping, sparking a nationwide manhunt that ended when she showed up at her parents’ home two days later.

Cops caught up with the Russian after discovering she had Googled Liam Neeson’s 2008 kidnapping thriller Taken and the Amber Alert system in the days before her disappearance.
