Exclusive | ‘Project Runway’ winner Christian Siriano will launch a penthouse pop-up in NYC in January

His creativity knows no bounds.

Project Runway winner Christian Siriano, who has dressed Michelle Obama, Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez — and many icons of one name, including Oprah, Zendaya and Rihanna — has taken the art of the pop-up to new heights new ones.

The glam fashion and interior designer is transforming an Upper East Side loft into an interior design pop-up launching this January. It will be at 1289 Lexington Ave. There, Siriano Interiors will launch its latest collection of custom furniture pieces at the $13.75 million Skypad – a star in its own right.

The penthouse, Siriano told Gimme Shelter, “is filled with so much beautiful natural light, so I wanted to keep the space light and modern, but powerful and playful at the same time. I wanted the space to feel like a gallery where every piece has a chance to shine and is sure to spark a conversation.”

Siriano added that the pop-up showcases his new furniture collections as well as French and Italian antiques “from the ’40s to the ’60s.”

The five-bedroom, 5 ½-bathroom home was self-designed by award-winning firms HOK and SheltonMindel.

Measuring approximately 4,000 square feet, the residence boasts a custom staircase to a private 1,679 square foot corner terrace with an outdoor kitchen. The house opens onto a double-height gallery with a large roof and a great corner room with walls of windows that showcase views of the city.

An open plan entertaining/dining area is separated by a double-sided marble-clad fireplace.

There is also an open chef’s kitchen and a den that can serve as a guest bedroom.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Christian. The installation promises to be a testament to his versatility as an interior designer and his ability to bring this incredible home to life with his unique talent,” said Jill Bernard of Brown Harris Stevens, who is handling sales for the building.

As the latest Zeckendorf building, 1289 Lexington joins 520 Park Ave., 18 Gramercy Park South and 15 Central Park West in the collection. Building amenities include a lounge with a pool table and outdoor space, a rooftop terrace with fireside seating and a grill, a windowed gym designed by Wright Fit, an arcade, a music room, a conference room and private tutoring/study groups.

Founded in 2019—the same year the building began—Siriano Interiors is a full-service interior design studio. The projects range from “elegant Tribeca penthouses to boutique hotels across the US.” The collection is available on his website and 1stDibs.
