Sea barrier battle at Sylvester Stallone’s mansion KO’d by Palm Beach locals after a riot

Sylvester Stallone may have conquered the big screen in “Rocky” and “Rambo,” but the Palm Beach City Council proved to be an opponent he couldn’t topple.

The Hollywood icon abandoned his plan to erect an 18-inch seawall to protect his Florida mansion after a backlash from neighbors and local officials following a city council meeting Thursday, according to Bloomberg.

Stallone, 78, wanted the barrier to protect his private beach and pool from boaters and trash, claiming that several “abandoned” boats were turning the area into a dumping ground for “sewage, gas, garbage and excrement.” the dog”.

But his neighbors weren’t buying it, with many calling the plan invasive and environmentally problematic.

Palm Beach residents, known for their strict development standards, argued that Stallone’s obstruction would obstruct public waterways.

“The waterway needs to remain open,” lifelong resident Jane Lindsay Scott said at the meeting, according to Bloomberg, adding, “The onus is on the property owner to find a way to mitigate their exposure.”

Stallone defended his proposal, saying, “It’s unbelievable to me that you can have your house, your stuff, your boat — the place that’s your sanctuary — and you can have a guy sit there for 10 months and do his laundry.” him in front of me and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

But the critics did not give up.

Scott also noted that Stallone’s plan could “trap trash and push it down,” failing to address the environmental concerns Stallone had raised.

Facing mounting resistance, Stallone’s lawyer broke off the meeting, announcing the actor’s withdrawal from the proposal.

The announcement drew cheers from the crowd, letting Stallone wave in appreciation before walking off.

Even the council was pulling no punches.

“It’s hard to be so famous,” said council president Bobbie Lindsay, “we have a lot of celebrities and important people who live here, but you’re the only Rocky and Rambo, so it’s hard. I think we just have to oppose this particular one.”
